She knew me, and she knew that pictures were supremely important to me. Things that my parents had given me, my grandparents, anything from my family, and that it might be trash to someone else, but it was a treasure to me. I could trust Melissa with that. After several organizing projects, I entrusted Melissa with helping me design the bathroom of my dreams. Building a room from the ground up required her factoring in my capabilities with my disabilities. She knows my need for accessibility, and what my desires were concerning the colors and style of the space. The benefit in building a room from the beginning is that you can make the drawers and the cabinets exactly the way you want. She knew my needs and the vision, and she helped to make it happen. That is a rare thing to find. When you find it (that person who understands you) you definitely want to hold on to it. Melissa is that person you want to hold onto whom will help you with decluttering and organizing your whole house. Even as I continue to age, I want to hold on to her so that my children will not encounter a giant mess when I pass away. Everything will be labeled and they'll know this is their box from when they were in kindergarten through elementary school. They'll know these are all the family photos and that I've gone through it and organized for them. It won't be as big of a chore as what I encountered with my mom. In conclusion, when you have your home organized with a professional organizer, it's easier to maintain. Each thing has a home and it's easier to put that thing back where it lives; when things don't have a specific home, that's when they begin to pile up.
